A pair of tube plates are joined facing each other, a large number of tube elements each having a refrigerant passage formed therein are stacked, corrugated fins are interposed between these tube elements, and bulges formed at both ends of the tube plates are passed through each other. In a stacked heat exchanger that communicates through holes to form a tank part, tube elements are installed in a stair-like manner with varying lengths to avoid obstacles and are installed in accordance with the casing shape. A stacked heat exchanger in which the difference in level between the tank parts that occurs between the tube elements of the tank is connected by a communication adapter.
