本発明は、液晶を使ったポケットテレビに関する最近、
従来のＣＲＴを用いたテレビに代って注目されているの
に液晶表示体を用いた平面テレビがあるところが、液晶
表示体自体は、発光素子でないため輝度を上げる必要上
、暗いところで見るためにバックフィトを用いるのが通
例である。この断面図を第１図に示す。液晶表示体１０
１及びバックフィトのガラス部１０２及び発光体１０３
からなる。暗い所で観察した場合を考えると、外１一
部からの光量が期待出来ないため、１０４の矢印で示し
たように、バックフィトからの光量によって輝度を得る
。次に明るいところで観察する場合は、矢印１０５で示
した外部からの光量で見るが、この場合、液晶表示体１
０１を透過した光は、バンクフィト１０３に吸収される
ため、全体として輝度は下がるしこの間バックフィトを
点灯してもコントラストが低下する。このため、バック
フィトを設置すると、明るい場合でのコントラストある

本発明はかかる欠点をのぞくものであり、バックフィト
を内蔵しながらも、明るい所での輝度を低下させない物
を提供する。第２図に本発明の実施例を示す。液晶表示
体２０１及びバックフィト発光体２０４パツクフイトの
ガラス部２０３．上記液晶表示体２０１とバックフィト
の間に％鏡面を液晶表示体にした半透光柱鏡２０２（商
標、マジックミラー）を設ける。これによシ、外部から
の光（矢印２０６方向よル入射）が、液晶表示体２０１
を透過後、この半透光柱鏡２０２の鏡面によ２−
シ反射する（矢印２０７）、又、バックフィト２０４を
点灯時は、バックフィトからの光は、半透光性鏡２０７
を透過するため、矢印２０５で示したように、液晶表示
体２０１を透過し、観察される。本発明のように、半透
光性鏡を、中間に設けることによｐ従来方法より、数倍
の輝度及びコントラストを得ることを可能にするもので
