前後方向前方のカウルトップアウタパネルを溶着して、
フロントウィンドシールドガラスの前端下部近傍に、車
体幅方向に長い閉断面を形成し、前記カウルトップイン
ナパネルの車室側端面上端部に形成された下部合わせフ
ランジおよび前記カウルトップアウタパネルの車室側端
部に形成された上部合わせフランジとが、車室方向に突
出され、かつ、重ね合わせて溶着されてなる自動車のカ
ウルトップ構造において、前記カウルトップインナパネ
ルの車室側端面を、前記フロントウィンドシールドガラ
スよりも車室側に配置されているインストルメントパネ
ルの前下端部下方位置に配置し、かつ、前記下部合わせ
フランジおよび上部合わせフランジを、該インストルメ
ントパネル下側面に沿って車室方向に突出延在させ、ま
た、前記カウルトップアウタパネルの車室側端部を、前
記インストルメントパネルの前下端角部に沿って屈曲延
