Conventionally, engraving boards for prints were made by laying waterproof adhesive on the surface of a cloth board made by pasting waterproof thin paper on the surface of highly water-absorbent cardboard, and then flocking short fibers onto this.
As is known from Publication No. 17, etc., in this engraving plate, the thin paper used to flock short fibers is waterproof, so the adhesive 2 applied to the surface of the thin paper is not waterproof. Unlike other cases, for example, it is necessary to use a special material such as cellulose, which is easily flammable during the drying process, and therefore flocking short fibers to thin paper may be dangerous. In this engraving board, after engraving on the flock surface, coloring is done on the same surface, and when transferring it to another paper surface, the above-mentioned engraving is done so that the remaining droplets of paint and ink squeezed out from the flock surface will be absorbed by the cardboard. Some banknotes required the troublesome process of making deep cuts and peeling off the waterproof thin paper on the top of the same cardboard.

The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate such defects, and as described above, short fibers are flocked onto the surface of water-absorbent thin paper using a water-resistant adhesive, and this thin paper is attached to fabric. At the same time, attach this fabric to the required hard base plate and cut it out, draw a rough sketch on the print with a pencil, etc., and use the nib of a glass pen with a sharp tip to draw the outline on the surface of the thin paper with a bamboo toothpick or the like. Rub the flocked short fibers or the same short fibers and adhesive to create grooves and paint the sketch with watercolors like a known print, and then, before the paint dries, paint the top surface with watercolors. Press and rub the paper from the top with a rubber roller, ballet, etc., or apply a slightly darker watercolor to the print without making any cuts as described above. It is used for methods such as obtaining prints by applying a printing process to paper, but in particular in the present invention, unlike the case of flocking short fibers using adhesive on the surface of waterproof thin paper, the above-mentioned method is used. Not only does it not require special adhesives such as those mentioned above, and there is no danger of the work being accompanied by the above-mentioned dangers, but even if the thin paper has water absorption properties, when short fibers are flocked onto it, the surface of the thin paper does not need to be used. Since the thin paper is coated with a water-resistant adhesive, it can fully achieve the effect of preventing the paint or ink applied to the short fibers from seeping into the back side of the thin paper. In the known paper, waterproof thin paper is used, so in order to absorb the excess drops of paint and ink from the flocked surface into the cardboard, it is necessary to simply peel off the short fibers and adhesive at the relevant points. As mentioned above, it is necessary to cut the thin paper with a knife, which takes time and effort, but in this invention, water-absorbent thin paper is used, so there is no need to cut this thin paper with a knife. The work is extremely simple, as it is simply a matter of rubbing the surface of the thin paper with the nib of a glass pen, a bamboo toothpick with a sharp tip, etc. to scrape off the short fibers and adhesive that have been flocked to it and expose the thin paper. It is simple, and by simply doing this, the excess droplets squeezed out during the printing process will pass through the short fibers of the thin paper and the rubbed off part of the adhesive, and be sufficiently absorbed by the thin paper and fabric underneath, resulting in clear and accurate prints. In addition, when using the engraving plate for printmaking of the present invention, a chisel is not used for the outline coating, so an extremely soft tone is produced. Since a cloth is attached to the bottom surface of the short fiber flocked thin paper, the printing surface of the engraving plate has appropriate elasticity, which not only allows for more accurate printing on the surrounding surface. The short fibers, thin paper, and cloth can sufficiently contain the paint applied to the surface of the short fibers, which has various effects such as significantly increasing the number of prints.
