Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a hot roll which has high cooling efficiency, obviates deformation of the sleeve itself and has no possibility of water leakage by attaching the sleeve to a shaft body and providing water cooling holes in the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A hot roll is formed by attaching a sleeve 3 to the outside circumference of a roll shaft body 1 and providing water cooling holes 4 to the inside of the sleeve 3. The holes 4 are provided in the sleeve 3 right under the surface of the roll exposed most frequently to a high temp. and therefore cooling efficiency is high and blister and bending deformation of the sleeve 3 itself are obviated. The contact part between the shaft body 1 and the sleeve 3 is smooth and less loose to have no possibility of water leakage. Said sleeve 3 is obtd. by a method of providing spiral grooves on the joint surfaces of two-split pipes 3-1, 3-2 bisected in the circumferential direction, interposing packings 5 such as copper pipes in said grooves and binding metallurgically the two pipes by diffusion joining, etc.

Many of these hot rolls are equipped with a cooling mechanism because they come into contact with hot metal pieces. For example, solid rolls that do not use sleeves have water cooling holes in the shaft core or water cooling holes near the outer periphery. There are rolls with sleeves, which also have water cooling holes in the shaft core, and as shown in Figure 1, between the groove (2) dug on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft body (1) and the sleeve (3). There is a method in which the space created in the hole is used as a water cooling hole.

By the way, both solid rolls and sleeved rolls have advantages and disadvantages, and at present both are used depending on the purpose of use, but the sleeved rolls having the above-mentioned cooling mechanism have the following drawbacks. In other words, with a system in which water cooling holes are provided in the shaft core of the shaft body, cooling of the sleeve, which is the highest temperature, is insufficient, resulting in severe wear and tear.
The tube expands due to heating, causing deformations such as swelling and bending, and in the type shown in Fig. 1, the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body (1) and the inner surface of the sleeve (3) There are many problems such as leakage of cooling water due to the large amount of wear on the surrounding surface and easy wear of these parts.

The present invention aims to provide a roll with a sleeve that eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks, and its gist is a roll in which a sleeve is attached to the shaft body, and water cooling holes are provided in the sleeve. This is a hot roll characterized by the following.

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the present invention has a sleeve (3) attached to the outer periphery of the shaft body (1). It runs in a circumferential spiral (Fig. 2) or in an axial direction (
Figure 3) Water cooling hole (4) is opened. The roll shaft main body (1) and the sleeve (3) are made of various commonly used materials, and the materials are not particularly limited in the present invention.

In addition, the sleeve can be manufactured and attached by drilling holes by machining before or after attaching the sleeve to the shaft body, if the sleeve has a water cooling hole (4) running in the axial direction as shown in Fig. 3. In addition, the ends may be fixed by shrink fitting, welding, or knocking as is usually done, but in the case of a device having circumferentially spiral water cooling holes (4) as shown in Fig. 4, As shown, the sleeve (3) is divided into two in the circumferential direction by two split tubes +3-1), (
3-21, and the two split tubes (3
-11, (3-2+) A spiral groove to be the water cooling hole (4) is formed on the opposite side, and these two split tubes are metallurgically bonded by diffusion bonding including hot isostatic pressure bonding. An effective method is to connect the two split pipes (3-11).
, (a filling (5) made of, for example, a copper pipe, which is used as an integral part of the sleeve even after the sleeve is completed, in the groove formed between 3 and 21, or a ceramic powder that is removed by a necessary means after the sleeve is completed) It is even more preferable to carry out diffusion bonding with a filler (5) such as the like inserted therein to prevent the groove that is to become the water cooling hole (4) from being crushed or deformed.

In the roll of the present invention, a layer of material with high wear resistance, thermal cracking resistance, etc. is also formed on the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve by overlay welding or thermal spraying. The formation of the heat crack-resistant material layer is also convenient because it can be carried out at the same time as the sleeve by manufacturing the sleeve by the above-mentioned diffusion bonding method.

As described above, according to the hot roll of the present invention, since the water cooling holes are opened in the sleeve directly under the roll surface which is exposed to the highest temperature, the cooling efficiency is high and the sleeve itself does not swell. However, since the cooling holes are drilled inside the sleeve itself, the contact area between the shaft body and the sleeve is uniformly smooth, so wear is particularly high in that area. There is no problem such as that, there is less loosening of the sleeve, and there is no need to worry about water leakage.
