る。この加湿調質作用は、精米装置1の搗精作用によっ
て約り5℃〜38℃程度に米温の上昇した白米を常温程
度に冷却し、また、白米に対して0.2%〜0.3%重
量比の水分を30分〜1時間かけて加湿しながら循環し
調質して、米粒亀裂のない任意の所定含水率の白米に生
成するために実施されるものである。そして、前記加湿
調質作用によって粒表面を湿潤軟質化された白米は、分
岐路26を介して排出されると共に、隣設する揚穀機2
7によって研磨装置3に供給される。研磨装置3内に流
入した白米は、研磨体31の回転により複数個の帯状支
片29・・・によって米粒面を研磨されて付着糠を剥離
すると共に、露呈する米粒硬質面を米粒相互の琢磨作用
によって美麗な光沢面に仕上げて排米口37から機外に
排出される。また剥離された糠粉は排糠用受樋33内に
流下して集積すると共に、排出用スクリコーコンベア3
4の回転によって排糠口38から機外に排除され、機外
に取出された前記精白米は次行程に委ねられることにな
