Conventionally, this type of foam has been made by mixing sawdust, rice bran, and starch in a urethane prepolymer and foaming the mixture. However, the purpose of this single foam is simply to improve physical properties or reduce costs, and is not intended to be used for new purposes. Furthermore, since additives such as sawdust have large particle sizes, they are unevenly dispersed in the foam, resulting in unstable properties.

As a result of conducting research to uniformly disperse additives and effectively bring out the properties of the additives, the inventor identified the polyurethane stock solution and determined that the properties of the additives were limited to fine wood powder. They discovered an elastic foam that has both the properties of foam and wood flour, and completed the present invention.

That is, in the present invention, 20 to 500 parts by weight of water and 20 to 500 parts by weight of fine wood are added to 100 parts of a urethane prepolymer (polyurethane stock solution) prepared by heating and mixing a polyol containing 15% by weight or more of ethylene oxide and an organic incyanate. In this method, 5 parts by weight or more of wood powder is added and foam molded to produce an elastic foam in which wood powder is uniformly dispersed.

The urethane prepolymer is obtained by heating and mixing a polyol containing 15% by weight or more of ethylene oxide and a friend's isocyanate. Examples of starting materials for synthesizing this polyol include ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, clopylene glycol, nogropylene glycol, butylene glycol, hexylene glycol (bifunctional) glycerin, trimethylolpropane, trimethylolethane, 1.2.6hexanetriol. Examples include (trifunctional) pentaerythritol, α-methyl glycoside, ethylenesoamine (tetrafunctional), diethylenetriamine, sorbitol, sucrose, and the like. Ethylene oxide in this polyol is added to impart hydrophilicity to the urethane prepolymer. The reason why ethylene oxide is limited to 15% by weight or more is that if it is less than this, it becomes steamy and cannot react with a large amount of water, and it is difficult to mix wood flour uniformly. In this case, if the amount of ethylene oxide increases, the viscosity increases and workability becomes poor, so the preferred amount is 15 to 60% by weight.

Water is not limited to water alone, and may also be polymer latex, other aqueous dispersions, aqueous slurries, and the like. The reason why the amount of water added is limited to the above range is that if it is less than 20 parts by weight, the reaction will be poor and it will be difficult to form a foam.If it is more than 5'00 parts by weight, the expansion ratio will be extremely poor. In the present invention, 30 to 300
Parts by weight are preferably O. The quality of the wood flour added to the urethane prepolymer is appropriately selected depending on the application. For example, when used as a medium for cultivating shiitake mushrooms, wood powder such as shiitake is used, and when used as the core of footwear or cushions, cork powder is used. The reason why we limited the wood flour particles to fine particles of 20 mesh or more is that if the particles are too thick, the wood flour tends to disperse unevenly.
Moreover, the effect of adding wood flour, which has a small ratio of surface area to amount added, is not sufficient. The reason why the amount added is limited to 5 parts by weight or more is that if it is less than this, the effect of adding wood flour will not be sufficiently obtained. The amount of wood flour added varies depending on the application, but for example, it is preferably 10 to 60 parts by weight for mushroom culture medium, seedling raising, and breeding medium, and 10 to 100 parts by weight for footwear and cushion cores. The powder may be added in advance by adding urethane pre, JP IJ mom, or into water. If the amount is large, it may be added to both.

In this method of foam molding a urethane prepolymer to which water and wood flour have been added, the mixture is not stirred and then left to stand for several minutes at room temperature and pressure. In addition to water and wood flour, silicone oil (foam stabilizer), incyanate (crosslinking agent), and other foam control agents may be added as necessary. However, with this method, a sufficiently uniform elastic foam can be obtained without the addition of these materials.

As described above, according to this method, the urethane prepolymer containing ethylene oxide has hydrophilic properties and reacts stably with a large amount of water, so even if wood flour is added, uniform foam molding can be performed.

Moreover, since the wood flour particles are fine, they can be finely dispersed in the foam, making the properties of the foam uniform. Moreover, the obtained elastic foam has both the properties of elastic foam and wood flour. That is, the elastic foam is lightweight and easy to carry. It is also easy to cut and process into any shape depending on the purpose of use. It also has breathability and heat retention. On the other hand, by uniformly dispersing wood flour, the hardness of the foam can be adjusted as desired, and it can also have the properties of wood.

That is, this foam can be used as a medium for cultivating mushrooms such as shiitake mushrooms, since it is lighter than wood and can be easily processed. In addition, it is lightweight and can be processed into a desired shape, making it effective as a medium for raising seedlings, breeding, etc. Furthermore, the hardness of the foam can be adjusted by adjusting the amount of wood flour, and since it has breathability and heat retention properties, it can be used in place of conventional cork as the core of footwear and cushions.
