Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a developing device by feeding a developer from a developer cartridge located in a developing roll to the surface of said roll. CONSTITUTION:The cartridge 6 of the nonmagnetic toner is arranged in the developing roll 1, and the toner is conveyed with an auger device 7 to the surface of the roll 1. Since the auger devices 7 are fixed to the both end sides of the roll 1, uniform toner feed in the longitudinal direction of the roll 1 can be ensured. As a result, the toner storage space need not provide in other places, thus permitting the developing device to be reduced in size.

たもので、これよりトナーホッパー2から供給されたト
ナーを摩擦帯電させながら現像ロール表面に搬送してい
る。トナーホッパー2の外壁には、搬送ロール3と現像
ロール1の表面に接触ブレード2a、2bが取付けられ
ており、トナーの外部への漏出を防止している。ブレー
ド2bは、このトナー漏出防止機能のほかに現像ロール
5表面のトナ一層厚を規制する働きも有する。4は現像
バイアス手段であり、これにより現像ロール1に現像バ
イアスを印加して前記感光体上の静電潜像にトナーを付
着せしめて現像を行う。

て現像ロール中空部に配置されるので有用である。また
トナーカートリッジを用いているのでトナーの補給が簡
便に行える。

される。トナーカートリッジ6の装着は、現像ロール1
の静止時に行われ、トナー補給後はオーガ装置7が所定
の機構(図示せず)によりy方向に移動させられる。こ
のために、オーガ装置7全体は、柔軟性をもつようにフ
ランジ8に取付けられている。このオーガ装置7は現像
ロールlの両側端面に取付けられており、これにより現
像ロールの長手方向へのトナー供給は、より均一化され
十分なトナー搬送を提供することができる。

う構成されているが、この場合トナーが現像ロール内部
に内臓されているのでトナーがこぼれることがない。
