PURPOSE:To simplify patterns and efficiently print with multiple gradations, by a construction wherein heating elements are arranged in a direction perpendicular to the moving direction of a head, and each dot is printed by a plurality of the heating elements. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heating elements 11a, 11b, 11c; 12a, 12b, 12c;... 1ma, 1mb, 1mc are connected in parallel with each other, and each dot is constituted of the plurality of the heating elements. By passing electric currents selectively to the heating elements for each dot, gradations are produced in printed images. The plurality of the heating elements 11a, 11b, 11c;...1ma, 1mb, 1mc are arranged in a row in a direction Y perpendicular to the moving direction X of the head, so that a common power source line can be provided in a simple construction.

字を完成するため、ヘッドが冷却されて効率が悪いとい
う欠点があった。
