Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable positioning of recording and playback heads at a specified spacing on the same track of a magnetic tape by unitizing a head holding plate and tape guide to one body and displacing a head base which holds both heads in two directions; the plane direction of the head holding plate and the direction perpendicular thereto. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape 10 is guided and traveled by a tape guide 11 and a movable body 13 is moved in the transverse direction of the tape 10 by which the recording of data by the recording head 18 and the reproduction of the data by the playback head 19 are executed at every one track.
