Abstract

PURPOSE:To discriminate whether there is one target or plural targets by comparing the angle error signal of a previously stored calculated or measured value when there is one target with an angle error signal in antenna scanning. CONSTITUTION:A target detector 11 decides whether a target is caught or not from the output level of a monopulse receiver 4 and outputs some voltage when so. A switch 12 is driven by its output voltage and switches the flow of an angle error signal to the side of an angle error signal comparator. A bias voltage applying circuit 13 applies an antenna servo controller 6 with a bias voltage for giving an antenna 1 a specific scanning angle with the output voltage of said target detector 11. An angle error signal comparator 14 decides whether there are plural targets or not by comparing the angle error signal of the stored calculated or measured value when there is one target with the angle error signal in antenna scanning.

In the conventional pulse radar, as shown in Fig. 2, two targets equidistant from the radar within the antenna beam width receive the received signals by the monopulse antenna (1) and output them as sum and difference signals. The monopulse receiver (4) outputs a detection signal and an angle error signal, but the detection signal is 1.
The detection signal is similar to that of the target, but it has the disadvantage of being considered as one target.

This invention was made in an attempt to improve these conventional problems. In order to determine whether a single target or multiple targets is detected, the antenna is forcibly scanned when a target is detected. Compare the calculated value or measured value of the angular error signal for one target and the angular error signal during antenna scanning, and if the angle error signal of 1 is memorized in advance. We propose a pulse radar that detects a target and issues an alarm. [Embodiment of the Invention] FIG. 3 shows an example of the configuration of a pulse radar according to the present invention.

Voltage directivity D(ξ): Voltage directivity in the ξ direction of antenna difference pattern As shown in Figure 4, the slope of the angular error signal becomes smaller when there are two targets than when there is one target. ing. From this, in order to determine whether there is one target or multiple targets, when a target is detected, 1. Forcibly scan the antenna and compare the slope of the angular error signal at that time with the angular error signal of the calculated value or measured value at 1 target, which has been stored in advance, and find out that the angle error signal is 1 times smaller than the above angular error signal. When it becomes smaller, it can be determined that there are two targets and a warning can be issued. Furthermore, the above effects are also obtained for three or more targets.

As described above, in the pulse radar according to the present invention, even if the mantissa target is equidistant 1'' from the radar and within the beam width of the antenna, it is possible to determine whether it is one target or multiple targets, and the magnitude of the threat to the target can be determined using the system. This will have the effect of making it possible to decide on the operation of air defense systems to intercept the enemy.
