Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the capacity of a battery by dividing a radio channel into the 1st and 2nd blocks and allowing an exchange station to control individually the 1st and 2nd blocks at power failure of a base station to allow the exchange station to limit the assigning number of the radio channel. CONSTITUTION:An automobile telephone system consists of an automobile telephone base station 1 and a radio channel 2 connecting an automobile telephone exchange station 3, the base station 1 and the exchange station 3. The channel 2 is provided with a voice channel 20 and a control channel 21. Furthermore, the base station 1 is divided into the 1st radio channel group 13 receiving supply of power from a rectifier 11 and the 2nd radio channel group 14 receiving power from the rectifier 11 and the battery 12. Further, a controller 15 provided to the base station 1 supervises an output of the rectifier 11 and when power failure of a commercial power supply 10 is detected, a power failure signal is transmitted to the channel 21 and to a channel controller 32 of the exchange station 3. In case of power failure of the base station 1, the exchange station 3 limits the assigning number of the radio channel 2 to reduce the capacity of the battery 12.
