Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a printer with low noise, by a construction wherein an elastic material such as a rubber is adhered to a platen-supporting bushing on the surface thereof brought into contact with a chassis part. CONSTITUTION:The elastic material 9 such as a rubber is adhered to the supporting bushing 10 for a platen 8 on the surface thereof brought into contact with the chassis part 11, leaving no gap between the bushing 10 and the chassis part 11, thereby functioning as a shock absorber on collision. Accordingly, even where a sharp force is exerted in the direction perpendicular to the center axis of the platen 8 due to discontinuous torque generated in a stepping motor 14 when a knob 13 is manually rotated in setting a paper, the bushing 10 and the chassis part 11 are prevented from colliding against each other by the elastic material 9 provided therebetween, so that the generation of noise is suppressed.
