Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an ink film from being wrinkled and enable stable transfer recording, by a simple construction wherein a cylindrical member the surface of which is provided with right and left symmetrical spiral grooves is rotatably provided in proximity to a recording head so as to make contact with an ink film. CONSTITUTION:The ink film 2 and a recording paper 4 are clamped between a platen roller 5 and the recording head 6 in close contact with each other. When an electric current is selectively passed to a conductive layer provided on the head side of the ink film 2 by the head 6, the conductive layer generates heat, whereby an ink of the ink film 2 is melted and is transferred onto the paper 4, thereby recording a predetermined character, symbol or the like. The surface of a guide roller 3 for the ink film 2 is provided with right and left symmetrical spiral grooves 31. When the film 2 is fed, the guide roller 3 is rotated in the direction of an arrow C, whereby the film 2 is stretched in the width directions of arrows D, E by a guiding effect of the grooves 31. Accordingly, the ink film 2 is tensioned in the width direction, is prevented from being wrinkled, and is fed to a recording head part in a flat state.

<Prior Art> In an electric thermal transfer recording device, a recording head is brought into close contact with a conductive layer of an ink film to generate heat, melting the ink layer and transferring it onto recording paper to obtain a desired recording. Ink films need to be several tens of microns thin in terms of thermal conductivity and resolution. Since the ink film is thus thin, wrinkles are likely to occur at the contact portion between the recording head and the platen due to assembly errors of parts in the ink film transport system. Wrinkling causes poor adhesion between the recording head and the ink film, and between the ink film and the recording paper.
Good transfer recording becomes impossible.

<Objective of the Invention> The present invention provides an electrically conductive thermal transfer recording device that can perform smooth and stable transfer recording without requiring much processing precision or assembly precision of parts, and which eliminates the occurrence of wrinkles in the ink film at the recording head portion. It is intended to obtain.

<Structure of the Invention> The present invention will be explained based on the drawings. FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is an ink film supply roll, 2 is an ink film supply roll;
3 is the ink film loosened from the supply roll 1; 3 is a guide roller for guiding the ink film 2; 4 is a guide roller for guiding the ink film 2;
5 is a recording paper for forming characters or symbols by transfer on the surface facing the ink film, and 5 is a recording paper 4 that also serves as a platen.
A platen roller 6 presses and opposes the platen roller 25 via the recording paper 4 and the ink film 2 to supply the ink film 2 with a recording head, 7 a guide roller for guiding the ink film 20, 8 a recording head for guiding the ink film 20. The take-up roll 9 is a pressing roller for pressing the recording paper 4' ft against the platen roller 5.

The recording paper 4 is pressed against the platen roller 25 by the pressing roller 29 and is conveyed in the direction of arrow B by the rotational force of the platen roller 5. The ink film 2 and the recording paper 4 are sandwiched between the platen roller 5 and the recording head 6 and are in close contact with each other. A conductive layer is formed on the side surface of the recording head of the ink film 2, and when the recording head 6 selectively energizes the conductive layer, the conductive layer generates heat, and the ink on the ink film is thermally melted and transferred onto the recording paper 4. The required characters, symbols, etc. are recorded. In this way, recording is performed continuously by sequentially repeating the operation of selectively energizing the recording head 6 while synchronizing and conveying the ink film 2 and the recording paper 4.

FIG. 2 is a detailed view of the guide roller 5 for guiding the ink film 2 in FIG. 1. A symmetrical spiral groove 51 is formed on the surface of the guide roller 5. When the ink film 2 is conveyed, the guide roller 3 rotates in the direction of arrow 0, and the guiding effect of the spiral groove 31 causes the ink film 2 to move in the direction of the arrow. , E in the width direction. In this way, the guide roller 3 rotates as the ink film 2 is conveyed,
Tension is applied to the ink film 2 in the width direction to prevent wrinkles from forming, and the ink film 2 is conveyed flat to the recording head section.
