With this joining method, it is not possible to obtain sufficient joining strength for eyeglasses.

In addition, although spot welding can achieve greater joint strength than brazing, the joint area is very small and gaps are formed in most of the joints, so it is difficult to Twisting and bending are likely to occur.

On the other hand, the drawback of low joint strength is compensated for by spot welding, and the advantages of both can be combined to obtain a very high joint strength.

As shown in the figure, when attaching the nose pad 2 (the Q frame 3 is brought into contact with the lens frame 1 and the joints are temporarily joined by spot welding. This spot welding can be performed by a well-known method such as electric resistance welding. As a result, a small gap 5 is formed around the welding point 4 in the temporarily joined joint.

Through this brazing, the gap 5 is filled with the brazing material θ, and the entire joint is firmly joined. In other words, the necessary joint strength is mainly secured by spot welding, and since the strength due to soldering is added to this, the overall joint strength becomes very large.
The drawback of spot welding having a small joint area is compensated for by brazing, and since a sufficient joint area is ensured, twisting or bending of both members at the joint is less likely to occur.
