Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

A first guard panel with a U-shaped horizontal cross section and a second guard panel with a plate shape, each having an opening that allows the magnetic tape wound around the pair of hubs to be pulled out to the front of the cassette, and which can close the opening. In the magnetic tape cassette equipped with a locking member for locking the first guard panel, the first guard panel has left and right end pieces pivotally attached to the cassette side walls and is biased in a closing direction so as to be able to freely open upward from the cassette. The second guard panel is biased toward the front of the cassette so as to be slidable in the longitudinal direction of the cassette along the inner bottom surface of the cassette, and the locking member protrudes outside the case from a side wall hole in a side wall of the cassette. It has a locking portion that fits into the engaging portion of the end piece and a sliding portion that slides into contact with the side edge of the second guard panel, and further covers a biasing means that causes the locking portion to protrude outside the case. A stepped portion is formed to accommodate the cassette, and is disposed on at least one of the left and right sides of the opening so as to be pivotably rotatable along the bottom surface of the cassette, and the sliding contact portion and the side edge are in sliding contact with each other. A magnetic tape cassette, wherein the locking member rotates so that the locking portion enters the cassette to unlock the first guard panel.
