に行なおうとする試みまでなされ、これにより多量に副
生するであろうところの成長したホティアオイの利用方
法が種々検討されている。

結果、完成したもので、その要旨とするところは、ホテ
ィアオイの若葉を用いることにあり、更に詳しくは、こ
の若葉を摘み取り、水洗した後蒸煮し、細断し、水分を
しぼり出して乾燥し、炸裂して茶様の喫茶物としたこと
にある。製造過程において細断して煮沸するなどの順序
を逆にしたり、炸裂の程度を加減したり、未炒製にする
などによって各種の風味を異にする茶様喫茶物が得られ
る。

は湖沼、池、河川で自然に育つ植物であり、後述するよ
うに有害物質を含まず、この点でも健康喫茶物として有
用であろうかと考える。
