This method has excellent controllability, and is safe in the oral cavity as long as the diamond par etc. is applied correctly to the treatment area and the parr is not inadvertently transferred to a location other than the treatment area while it is in operation. However, on the other hand, the therapeutic effect greatly depends on the experience and technique of the dentist, and there is a tendency to cut into healthy areas of the tooth due to concerns about the occurrence of secondary caries. Another drawback is pain during cutting.

In comparison, the removal of cavities with laser light can be carried out in an instant, and by several laser beam irradiations, a cavity of a certain size is formed in a very short time, and it is almost painless. It has great advantages such as not feeling it. However, on the other hand, a high-power laser is required to create a large cavity.
Since the amount of irradiation energy is large, even a slight operational error, such as accidentally moving the manipulator away from the treatment area while the laser beam is being irradiated, or forgetting to turn off the irradiation switch and turning off the manipulator can cause damage. At present, it has not been clinically applied because there are concerns that when attempting to remove it from the oral cavity, the laser light may irradiate other healthy teeth or oral mucosa, causing severe damage.

In addition, during laser treatment, there is a risk that the laser light reflected or scattered from the tooth surface will enter the eyes of the treating doctor who is staring at the treatment area, and to avoid this, the treating doctor usually takes protective measures. Although the patient was wearing glasses during treatment, the treated area appeared dark to the treating doctor, making treatment difficult.

FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal sectional view of the manipulator of the dental laser treatment device according to the present invention. In the figure, the manipulator 6 is
The laser beam of the cable 2 is emitted from the rear end of the cylindrical casing 4, which has a lining 5 that is opaque to the laser beam and whose front part is refracted into a hook shape in order to facilitate treatment operations. The end 6 is connected to a lens 7 that converts the emitted laser beam into parallel light toward the front, a dielectric multilayer mirror 8 that converts the direction of the parallel light, a lens 9 that focuses the laser beam, and a window. Glasses 10 are sequentially arranged as shown. Reference numeral 11 denotes a head portion constituting the tip of the manipulator 6 of the laser treatment device according to the present invention, and the core portion is slidably mounted on the inner surface of the cylindrical casing. Although it is transparent to light, YAG has a wavelength of about 1.06μ, which is the wavelength of the buzzer light.
A cover covered with a selective absorption film that is opaque to light having a wavelength of m and a contact type switch are constructed.

When the head section 11 is in the state shown in FIG. 6(a), that is, the switch section 12 is in the open state, and the manipulator 6 is brought close to the target treatment area in the oral cavity, and the head section 11 is brought into contact with the target treatment area, the switch section 12 is opened. When the closed state is established, the laser device is activated, and the laser beam is emitted from the fiber output end 6 via the fiber 2, parallelized by the cylindrical casing by the lens 7, and its direction is changed by the dielectric multilayer mirror 8. The light is focused onto the tip of the head by the condenser lens 9, and irradiates the treatment area. Since the switch section 12 is of a normally open type,
If the pressing force of the head unit on the treatment area is removed, that is, if the head unit 11 is moved away from the treatment area, the switch unit 12 will automatically become open, and at the same time, the laser beam irradiation will be stopped. . In other words, laser light irradiation is reliably stopped except during treatment.

c. Further, the repetition frequency was 1QHz, and the spot size was 1mmψ. As the head was moved along the lesion, the lesion disappeared, and after 1 minute, a cavity was formed with only the healthy portion remaining. Laser light irradiation was performed while visually observing the treated area through the cover of the manipulator head to confirm that the lesion had disappeared. Also, at this time,
The laser light was absorbed by the cover and did not enter the eyes, making it safe.

The repetition frequency was 1 QHz, and the spot size was 1 mmψ. As a result of irradiating the laser beam while pressing the head part against the tartar while visually checking for the presence of tartar, all the tartar disappeared in 20 seconds, and the tooth surface was not affected. At this time as well, the eyes were safe as in Example 1.

As explained above, by using the dental laser treatment device according to the present invention, it is possible to reliably irradiate the treatment area with laser light while visually confirming the contact of the manipulator part to the treatment area through the transparent cover, and the irradiation operation is simple. The treatment is performed only by touching the treatment area with the head, which prevents the laser beam from accidentally spreading to other areas. Furthermore, the head portion, which is transparent to visible light, absorbs laser light and is therefore safe for the eyes of the treatment device. As described above, the laser treatment device according to the present invention makes dental treatment using laser safe and reliable, completes treatment in a short time, causes less pain, and fills the cavity with filler due to the smoothness of the wall surface of the opening. It is extremely effective in dental treatment that takes advantage of the advantages of laser treatment, such as in preventing the occurrence of secondary cavities later on.
