One end of a pair of front and rear arms of equal length is pivotally attached to a bracket fixed to the sliding door opening of the vehicle body, and a sliding body is pivotally attached to the other end of the arm, and a parallel link is formed by the bracket, arm, and sliding body. In a sliding door for a vehicle in which a rail provided on the sliding door is mounted so as to be movable relative to the sliding body, a mounting shaft parallel to the front arm is provided on the front side of the front arm, and this mounting shaft is used to fully open the sliding door. A cover having a size that substantially covers the gap between the pair of arms at the time of the sliding door is pivoted at one edge thereof, a spring is provided on the mounting shaft to bias the cover in the direction of standing upright, and the bracket is provided with a spring for biasing the cover in the direction of standing upright.
