Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive the preservation of confidential information, by providing a correction head for correcting by transferring the patterns left on a thermal transfer material such as a ribbon and a sheet. CONSTITUTION:Information from a recording-controlling part 3 is inputted into a transfer head controlling part 4, where it is converted, and the converted information is outputted to a transfer head 5. Simultaneously, the controlling part 4 outputs a timing signal for writing to a delay circuit 6. The delay circuit 6 delays the timing signal by a period of time required for a reverse pattern formed on the ribbon 1 to move to the position of the correction head 7. The delayed timing signal is outputted from the circuit 6 to a correction head controlling part 8, which outputs a solid transfer signal to the deleting head 7, whereby the pattern on the ribbon 1 is made to be blank, resulting in that the information on the ribbon 1 is deleted. Accordingly, the situation in which recording information is needlessly left on the ribbon or the like can be prevented, and confidential information can be preserved.
