A ferrule for a plastic optical fiber having a core wire insertion hole into which an end portion of a plastic optical fiber core wire from which a plastic sheath provided on the outer periphery has been peeled is inserted, and a sheath insertion hole continuous with the core wire insertion hole and into which the plastic sheath is inserted. A ferrule for a plastic optical fiber, characterized in that a thermoplastic resin layer is provided within the inner peripheral surface of the core wire insertion hole.
