Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the weight without sacrifice of appearance by forming a shock absorber provided on the horizontal section of upper face of reinforcement member of bumper softer than an absorber provided on the rear wall face. CONSTITUTION:A front bumper 2 is constructed with a reinforcement 3, skin member 4 and shock absorber 5. The reinforcement member 3 is a rod having C-shaped cross-section composed of horizontal sections 3a, 3b of upper/lower faces and rear wall face section 3c extending laterally by approximately same length with the width of car. The skin member 4 is formed with synthetic resin to have C-shaped cross-section and fixed to the chassis while covering the reinforcement member 3. The absorber 5 is comprised of high hardness section 5a and low hardness section 5b where the section 5a is arranged in the center while the section 5b is arranged at the upper end section of bumper. Consequently, the entire weight of bumper can be reduced without varying the shock absorbing performance.

Generally, the bumper of a car is located at the front of the car body, l1jcα1
It is arranged in the 11th section, and when an impact force is applied to the car during a car collision, it absorbs the impact force to ensure the safety of the occupants and to prevent damage to the car body. In recent years, impact-absorbing bumpers that can improve the above-mentioned impact-absorbing ability have been manufactured, and conventionally, as described in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 56-3046, the upper horizontal part and the vertical part There is one in which an absorbent body with uniform hardness is provided on both surfaces of a reinforcement part A consisting of a wall surface part, and the surface of the absorbent body is further covered with a skin member.

By the way, since the impact force does not act much on the horizontal portion of the upper surface of the absorber, there is no need to provide an absorber in that portion. As a result, in this conventional example, there were problems in that the weight of the bumper was large and the cost was high. However, if no absorber is provided in the horizontal part of the upper surface,
This time, a problem arises in that the upper surface of the skin member sag, deteriorating the appearance of the bumper.

The present invention has been made in view of the conventional problems as described above, and an object of the present invention is to provide a damper structure for an automobile that can reduce weight without deteriorating the appearance of the damper and also reduce costs. .

In order to achieve the above object, the present inventor has proposed that the absorber provided on the horizontal upper surface of the reinforcement member is mainly used to prevent the skin member from sagging, and to maintain the shape of the skin member. Therefore, the present invention focuses on the fact that the shock absorbing power is not so necessary. Therefore, the present invention provides a suspension structure for an automobile in which the suspension is a reinforcement member having at least a horizontal upper surface portion and a vertical wall surface portion. It consists of a skin member that covers this, and an absorbent body provided between the two members, and the absorbent body provided on the horizontal part of the upper surface is made softer than the absorbent body provided on the vertical wall part. Each part of the body is designed to have a shock-absorbing capacity appropriate to its purpose, and therefore to have a weight appropriate to its purpose.
