This is a flat cable connector in which multiple signal line cables, each equipped with a shielded wire, are connected in parallel, and a plurality of first contacts each having a tongue piece for connecting the signal line, and a first contact for connecting the shielded wire. A plurality of second contacts each having a tongue piece and a plurality of comb-teeth-like protrusions are formed facing each other in two staggered rows that are shifted by approximately half a pitch, and each of the protrusions is bent in the same direction. A shield wire fixing fitting having two staggered rows of through holes through which covered signal wires pass between opposing rows, and the first contact and the second contact are inserted and inserted alternately. the staggered through-hole array of the column includes an insulator provided opposite to the coated signal line through-hole array, and the through-hole array of the second contact is provided at one open end of the through-hole array.
