Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit to provide the fan easy to handle by a method wherein an ambient sound absorbing member of porous member, such as sponge, urethane or the like, is provided at the outside periphery of the fan in an air channel to reduce noise without lengthening the size of the fan by the sound absorbing means. CONSTITUTION:The ambient sound absorbing member 12 of porous member, such as sponge, urethane or the like, is provided at the outside periphery of the fan 3. According to this method, noise will never be reflected at the inner surface of the air channel and delivered to the outside of the fan so much as before whereby the reduction of the noise of the fan 3 may be contrived. The ambient sound absorbing member 12 is provided at the outside periphery of the fan 3, therefore, the length of the main body of a dryer 1 will never be lengthened even when the axial length of the ambient sound absorbing member 12 is lengthened sufficiently to expand a sound absorbing range, different from the case in which the member is provided at the suction port 10 as before, therefore, a problem to worsen the handling thereof may be eliminated. On the other hand, the member 12 can be inserted and withdrawn easily by removing a suction lattice 11, therefore, exchange of the sound absorbing member 12 may be effected easily.

Most of the noise generated by hair wires comes from the motor, fan, and suction port. In particular, recent hair dryers tend to have higher wattage, and as a result, the noise during operation tends to increase. Therefore, there were problems such as making a loud operating noise and making it difficult to use.

In particular, the noise from the fan section is extremely loud. The causes include turbulence noise when the sucked air passes between the seven blades, and noise due to the pressure difference and backflow between the inner surface of the casing and the fan. This generated sound is transmitted to the outside from the suction port, which is the air intake port, and gives an unpleasant sound (noise) to the user.

Therefore, as shown in FIG.
It has been proposed that the device be inserted into the suction port 23 of No. 2 to absorb the generated noise and reduce the noise (Meikai Sho 53-952
81 Publication), 24 is a motor, and 25 is a fan. However, in order to enhance the noise reduction effect, it is necessary to increase the width of the sound absorbing member 21 to widen the sound absorption range. In this way, if the width is increased, there arises a problem that the size of the dryer main body 220 becomes large and the overall usability becomes poor. If IlIgL is shortened, the sound absorption area becomes small and a sufficient sound absorption effect cannot be obtained.

Since the annular sound absorbing member 12 is provided around the outer periphery of the operating fan 3, the noise is less likely to be reflected on the inner surface of the wind tunnel and transmitted to the outside as in the conventional case, and the energy generated by the noise is absorbed. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the noise of the ring 3 (which is the main cause of noise generation). Since the annular sound absorbing member 12 is provided on the outer periphery of the fan 3, unlike the conventional case where it is provided at the suction port, even if the axial length of the annular sound absorbing member 12 is sufficiently long to widen the sound absorption range, the dryer body 1 does not become long, and the problem of poor usability is solved.

In addition, dust and the like sucked in from the outside along with the wind are adsorbed by the annular sound absorbing member 12, thereby reducing the possibility of dust adhering and accumulating on the heater 5, and preventing excessive heat generation of the heater 5 due to the accumulation of dust. The sound absorbing effect of the annular sound absorbing member 12 decreases due to the inhalation of dust, but since it can be easily inserted and removed by removing the suction port grid 11, it is necessary to periodically replace it with a new annular sound absorbing member or clean it. Is possible.

The suction port lattice 11 has a radial shape with each grid piece 11b inclined, which reduces noise generation at the suction port 10. That is, conventionally, the suction port grid has generally been composed of a radial portion and an annular portion, which has resulted in extremely loud wind noise when air flows from the suction port to the fan blades. However, in this embodiment, since the grid piece 11b is inclined with respect to the axial direction A, the air sucked in as shown by arrow B in FIG. and is introduced between the blades 31 of the fan 3. Therefore,
The degree of air collision with the inlet portion of the blade 3a of the fan 3 is reduced, and the amount of noise generated is also reduced.

In FIG. 4, arrow Q indicates the direction of rotation. Further, transmission of the generated noise to the suction port 10 side is blocked by the grid piece 11b acting as a shielding plate, and is diffused as shown by arrow D (FIG. 3). Therefore, this also reduces the noise on the suction port 10 side.
