Abstract

PURPOSE:To bring the clamp load toward a catalyst carrier to a propriate value by a method wherein the case main body of the catalyst carrier and a keep plate are interlockingly seamed by folding each other. CONSTITUTION:A keep plate 5 is pushed in a case main body 1 by its bending- over allowance 51 by curling the opening end part 11 of the case main body 1 so as to push open said part 11 by means of a die D1. The amount of pushing-in is set in advance by a dimension of pushing-in depth or an indentation load and the compression allowance 31 of a holding member 3 is pushed in through a sealing material 4 between the case main body 1 and a carrier 2 at the finish of pushing-in, resulting in ensuring the exact quanities of holding of the carrier 2.
