Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of contaminated air, by providing air shielding plates, which are rotatably supported by the filter frame of an air conditioner, thereby automatically closing the air shielding plates when a used filter is extracted. CONSTITUTION:Air shielding plates 3 are rotatably supported by a filter storing frame 1 by using hinges 2. The hinges 2 have twisted springs 4 and support the air shielding plates 3 in the direction the plates are always closed. When a new filter unit 5 is stored, the new filter unit 5 opens the air shielding plates 3 and is stored in the filter storing frame 1. When the used filter unit is extracted, the air shielding plates 3 are automatically closed by the elasticity of the twisted springs 4 so as to prevent the leakage of contaminated air. The stopping of the air shielding plates 3 is accomplished by contacting end surfaces 6A and 6B of each stopper 6, which is fixed to the filter storing frame 1, whith end surfaces 2A and 2B of each hinge 2.
