Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from being carried out of a developing device sticking on a developer cassette and staining the developing device and its circumferential part by providing a mesh member where the outer circumference of the cassette contacts a developer supplementing part. CONSTITUTION:The mesh member 16 is made of, for example, a cylindrical net, which is fixed to the inner wall of the developer supplementing part 4a while reduced in internal diameter below the external diameter of the developer cassette 12 at one terminal and also fitted to the entrance of the developer supplementing part 4a to the external diameter nearly equal to the developer cassette 12. Thus, the mesh member is provided to rub against the outer circumference of the cassette 12 when the cassette is loaded and unloaded; when the developer cassette 12 is taken out of the developing device, the developer is prevented from being carried out together by sticking on the outer circumference of the cassette 12 and also prevented from falling out of the developer to stain the outside.

In the conventional developing device as described above, when the developer cassette runs out of developer and the developer cassette is taken out from the developing device, the developer adheres to the outer periphery of the developer cassette. There is a problem in that the items are taken out together with other items, and they fall and contaminate the surrounding area. In particular, depending on where the copying machine is installed, there are many places where it is difficult to clean fallen toner, and cleaning the fallen toner is extremely troublesome for the copying machine user.

The illustrated developing device 4 uses a so-called -component developer made of magnetic toner particles as a developer, and the developer is supplied to a developer reservoir 4b from a developer cassette 12 fitted and attached to a developer supply section 4a. The developing sleeve 14, which has a magnet 13 provided inside the opening of the developer reservoir 4b, attaches the developer from the developer reservoir J4b to the surface and carries it in the direction of the arrow, and the developing sleeve 14 is attached to the photoreceptor drum. 1, the electrostatic image on the photosensitive drum 1 is developed into a toner image. To fit the developer cassette 12 into the developing device 14, as shown in FIG.
Keep the seal 15 of 2a on the upper side, and
Peel off the developer cassette 12 and insert it into the insertion opening of the developer replenishing section 4a with the developer replenishing port 12a facing upward. When the developer cassette 12 is fully inserted, rotate the developer cassette 12 approximately 180 degrees to open the developer replenishing port 12a. This is done by K pointing down. And □
The developer cassette 12 that has been replenished with developer is taken out by the reverse operation of the above-mentioned insertion. The outer periphery of the developer cassette 12 is inside the developer replenishing section 4a into which one developer cassette 12 is fitted so that the developer does not spill out to the outside of the developing device 14 when the developer is taken out. The contact mesh member 16 is sand-thrown as shown in FIGS. 2 to 6. □The mesh member 16 shown in FIGS. 2 to 4 is made of a cylindrical mesh, and one end is fixed to the back wall of the developer supply section 4a in such a manner that the inner diameter is narrower than the outer diameter of the developer cassette 12. However, the other end is fixedly attached to the entrance of the developer replenishing section 4a with an outer diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the developer cassette 12. This mesh member 16 may be obtained by braiding synthetic resin monofilaments, for example.
Alternatively, it may be a book obtained by making many cuts in a cylindrical synthetic resin film. By providing such a mesh member 1'6, the outer periphery of the developer cassette 12 is rubbed by the mesh member 16 as shown in FIG. 3 when the developer cassette 12 is attached or detached. Scraping K of the mesh member 16 prevents the developer from adhering to the outer periphery of the developer cassette 12 and coming out in two sets when the developer is taken out from the developer cassette 4. is prevented. When the developer replenishing portion 4aK is fitted with the developer replenishing portion 12, the mesh member 1-6 becomes shaped as shown in FIG.

The mesh member 16 shown in FIG. 5 is made of a cylindrical porous plate fitted inside so as to form the inner circumferential surface of the developer replenishing section 4a. The mesh member 16 also scrapes off the developer that adheres to the developer cassette 12 and tries to come out, and prevents it from falling outside the developing device 4. Note that such a mesh part @16 is not a complete cylinder, but rather one that is rolled into a cylindrical shape so that the inner diameter is smaller than the outer diameter of the developer cassette 12 and separated in the length direction. This is preferable because the rubbing effect exerted on the developer cassette 12 becomes stronger. It goes without saying that such a mesh member 16 is also locked by a suitable locking means so that it does not come out from the developer replenishing section 4a. In addition, the mesh member 16
The material may be metal or synthetic resin.

The mesh member 16 shown in FIG. 6 is made of a mesh or a flexible perforated plate provided above the developer fall port of the developer supply section 4a. Since most of the developer adheres to the developer cassette 12 near the developer fall port of the developer supply section 4a, such a mesh member 16
This can also effectively prevent the developer from spilling out.

As described above, according to the present invention in which the mesh member that contacts the outer periphery of the developer cassette is provided in the developer replenishment section into which one developer cassette is fitted, the developer is attached to the developer replenishing part. This prevents the particles from being exposed to the outside of the developing device and contaminating the peripheral parts of the developing device, copying machine, etc.
