Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure easily and rationally human body temperature, by installing an information circuits generating consecutively a plurality of information sounds informing elapsed times after start of the measurement. CONSTITUTION:When, for temperature measurement, the electric power source is thrown in by a switch 6, a counter 4a in an information circuit 4 starts counting and sums up elapsed time after throwing-in of the source. For every unit time interval after starting of counting, the counter 4a delivers pulses to a code- generating circuit 4b. The circuit 4b is driven by pulses supplied successively and delivers pulses coded corresponding to each elapse time. By these pulses, a sound emitting circuit 4c is driven for generation of information sound.

Body temperature is routinely measured clinically or at home as a vital sign of living organisms. However, conventional glass thermometers have the inconvenience of having to be careful about the measurement time and constantly measuring the temperature. Furthermore, among electronic thermometers that have recently become popular, some display a blinking display or generate a simple notification sound when the temperature is saturated and the change per unit time falls below a set value. However, it is generally difficult to confirm the blinking of the display while measuring temperature, and it is not appropriate to generate a notification sound based on a uniform logic for living organisms with diverse conditions and individual differences. There are many cases where this is lacking, making it impossible to perform highly accurate measurements.

In this thermometer, when the power is turned on by the switch 6 for temperature measurement, the counter 4a of the notification circuit 4 is turned on as shown in FIG.
Counting is started by the pulse shown in a), and the elapsed time after the power is turned on is counted. After a unit time has elapsed from the start of counting, for example, in the case of this embodiment, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, etc. 5 minutes later, the counter 4a generates pulses, and these pulses are supplied to the code generation circuit 4b. .
