A shielding plate made of a magnetic material is attached to the rotating shaft that transmits the rotation of the rotating shaft of the object to be detected, and the shielding plate is placed between the shielding plate and the magnet on one side, and the magnetic flux is applied to the other side. Magnetic sensing elements that sense and change their state are arranged facing each other, and a part of the shielding plate is placed at a position intersecting a straight line connecting the magnet and the magnetic sensing element when the shielding plate rotates. A rotation sensor characterized in that a plurality of notches are provided so that the notches alternately intersect with the straight line, and an electrical signal is output in response to a change in the state of the magnetically sensitive element.
