Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent misreading of a page mark from occurring due to slipping in sucking in a passbook or skew insertion of the passbook, by a method wherein the presence or absence of a page mark is discriminated for each prescribed interval and at a predetermined position, and information obtained by comparing the two pieces of discrimination information is made to be page mark reading information. CONSTITUTION:A page mark reading part is constituted of a counter 2 which detects the presence of the page mark (a) when a signal is inputted into an MPU 1 for controlling the entire part of the passbook recorder and outputs a signal when the page mark (a) is present, a counter 3 which detects the presence or absence of the page mark (a) when a step pulse ''1'' is inputted and outputs a signal only when the page mark (a) is present, and a comparator 4 which outputs a page mark reading signal (4)to the MPU1 when the same signal is inputted from both of the counters 2, 3. Accordingly, since a page mark is not misread even when the distance between adjacent page marks is enlarged beyond a prescribed interval due to skewing in inserting the passbook into the passbook recorder or the like and the situation is treated as an error, it is made possible to prevent recording on the erroenous page or treatment as an erroneous item from occurring.

Conventional page mark a is read using an optical sensor ``11''.
(not shown) was reading a page ``i''--a printed in black at intervals as shown in FIG. 1 (8) or (+3). For example, when there are consecutive page marks a as shown in Figure 1 (A), when the lowest page mark a is first read and detected, a pulse counter (not shown) is initialized and 10 step pulses ■ are counted. The presence or absence of the secondary page mark a is detected. At this time, the gate signal ■ is input to the pulse counter (not shown) between 9 and 12 of the step pulse ■, and if the sensor reading signal ■ is input during this time, this sensor reading signal ■ is read as a page mark. If the page mark a is read at the specified reading center position C when the suction slips on the roller (not shown) or the page mark a is skewed, if the page mark a is read at the specified reading center position C, the If the interval is less than 1,2 (the specified interval becomes interval b'), there is a possibility that it will be determined that page mark a is not detected even though there is actually page mark a.
