Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the business efficiency by reporting a calling subscriber's name to a called subscriber before response of telephone to give the selecting right of call to the called subscriber. CONSTITUTION:When the calling subscriber inserts his ID card 1-3 to an ID card reader 1-4 and hooks off a handset 1-1, a controller 1-13 detects this state and instructs the reader 1-4 to read the ID code. The code read by reader 1-4 is sent to a private branch exchange and is converted to the calling subscriber's name with a conversion table between ID codes and names and is stored temporarily. When the calling subscriber dials the called subscriber's number to send a rining tone to a called telephone, the calling subscriber's name is read out and is transmitted in a form of the character code. In the called telephone, this character code is converted to a dot pattern by a character generator 1-15, and this pattern is transferred to a display device 1-7 and is displayed as characters.

[Prior art] Conventional communications are based on the station-to-station concept, and for example, caller ID display has been put into practical use in some telephones; The number received was visually displayed on the called telephone. However, telephones are not always used by specific individuals, and displaying a calling number does not necessarily notify the caller. Furthermore, the conventional method was to visually display the calling number in numbers.

The device stores the personal identification code or name code of the owner, and the communication terminal device has the ability to read the personal identification code or name from the portable storage device and to visually, audibly or Equipped with a visual display function, the conversion device exchanges the personal identification code or name code read from the calling terminal into name information that can be displayed on the called terminal as necessary, and forwards it to the called terminal. A caller name notification communication system characterized by: 2. The switching device converts the caller's personal identification code or name code into voice information that notifies the caller's name, and the called terminal transmits the caller's name at the siren time of the audible ringing signal. 2. The caller name notification communication system according to item 1, characterized in that the notification is made by voice. 3. Detailed Description of the Invention [Field of Application of the Invention] The present invention relates to the improvement of communication services such as telephones, and involves notifying the called party of the calling party's name before the called party answers;
The idea is to give the called party the right to choose the answer. [Prior Art] Conventional communications are based on the idea of station-to-station, and for example, caller ID display has been put into practical use in some telephones; The number received was visually displayed on the called telephone. However, telephones are not necessarily used only by specific individuals, and displaying one calling number does not necessarily notify the calling party. In addition, the conventional method was to visually display the calling number in numbers. [Object of the Invention] The present invention provides a method for notifying which terminal device is being used, such as the number of the calling telephone. [Summary of the Invention] The present invention aims to notify a called terminal of the name of the person using the terminal instead of the name of the person using the terminal. An individual's identification code (ID code) or name itself is coded and stored, and when making a call, the portable storage device is attached to a communication terminal device, such as a telephone, and then the call operation is performed. The switching device identifies the ID code or name of the caller, and upon receiving the ID code or name code from the calling communication terminal device, converts it into name information in a form that can be displayed on the called communication terminal device, if necessary. The called communication terminal equipment then calls the called party before answering by visually or audibly displaying the calling party's name in the ringing state where the called party has not answered yet. This service provides a new communication service that notifies the caller's name. [Embodiment of the Invention] An embodiment in which the present invention is applied to a private branch exchange telephone installed in an office will be described. All employees working in an office have an ID card that records their ID code (for example, employee number). This can also be used as an identification card (employee card). The telephone is a telephone equipped with an ID card reader as shown in FIG. In FIG. 1, a telephone 1 includes a handset 1-1, a push-button dial 1-2, an ID card reader 1-41, and a display device 1-.
7 and electric key lamp board 1-5 and 1-6, ID
When the card reader 1-4 inserts the ID card 1-3,
It has a function to read the ID code recorded on the card. The caller inserts his or her ID card 1 into the ID card reader 1-4.
-3 (Figure 4-1, 401), then raise the handset. The control device 1-13 in FIG. 2 uses a circuit (not shown) to detect a call origination, that is, lifting up the handset.
Instruct to read the ID code from step 3. The ID code read by the ID card reader 1-4 (Figure 4-1, 4
03), is sent to the control device 1-13 through the input/output interface 1-11, and the control device 1-13 is sent to the storage device 1-13.
In accordance with the program stored in 14, the information that the call has been made and the caller ID code are transferred to the exchange via the line interface 1-12 (404 in FIG. 4-1). Note that the ID card reader 1-14 has a function to detect whether or not a card is inserted (not shown), and when a card is not inserted, a no-card code is transmitted to the exchange instead of the ID code. In the exchange, the central control unit 8 shown in FIG. 3 receives these signals through the telephone interface 2 and the signal reception distribution device 7, and sends out a dial tone to the calling party by making a so-called dial tone connection (see Figure 4-1). 405). On the other hand, the central control device 8 converts the received ID code into a caller's name using the ID code and person name conversion table stored in the storage device 9 (FIG. 4-1, 406). is stored in the primary memory. Note that when a code without a card is sent, no processing related to displaying the caller's name is performed, and only normal call path setting is performed. When the caller hears the dial tone and then dials the called number, the dialed number is relayed by the telephone set 1 and sent along the same route as the calling information and caller ID code to the central control unit 8 of the exchange ( Figure 4-1, 407). The central control unit 8 learns the called telephone based on the dial number of the called party, and makes a call, calls the called telephone, and reserves a communication path. Next, a ring tone is sent to the calling phone and a ringing signal is sent to the called phone (
Figure 4-1, 409). On the other hand, when the called telephone is determined, the central control unit 8 (
It may also be the time when a communication path is selected and a calling signal is sent. ) 1. The calling party's name is read from the storage device 9 and transferred in the form of a character code to the called telephone through the signal receiving and distributing device 7 and the telephone interface 2 (FIG. 4-2, 410). In the called telephone set, when the controller 1-13 of FIG. 2 receives the calling party name character code through the line interface 1-12, it converts it into a dot pattern using the character generator 1-15. 411) and is transferred to the display device 1-7 through the input/output interface 1-11. The display device 1-7 stores the received caller name pattern and displays it in characters (412 in FIG. 4-2). In this way, the calling party's name can be displayed on the display device of the called telephone at the same time as the called telephone is ringing, and the called party can know the calling party before answering. In this embodiment, the case where the ID code is stored in the ID card has been described, but the name may be stored as a code as it is, and in this case, it is not necessary for the conversion shown in FIG. 4-1 406. Furthermore, with advances in speech synthesis technology, it is also possible to convert and edit the calling party's name into voice, coded voice, or voice parameters using a switching device, and then announce the caller's name aloud from a built-in or separate speaker in the called telephone. It is possible. [Effects of the Invention] It has been said that the current telephone system is a one-sided system in which connection is made only at the will of the caller, and the called party does not have the right to choose. The present invention provides a means to compensate for the shortcomings of this telephone system.The present invention provides a means to compensate for the shortcomings of this telephone system. Since the called party can also be given the right to choose the call, it is expected that this will greatly contribute to improving the efficiency of office work in offices and the like. 4. Brief explanation of the drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of a telephone with an ID card reader.
