Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid waste of optical energy of a flash lamp, to secure fixing effect, and to improve reliability by placeing an inside surface reflecting sleeve on which a part correspnding to a fixing part of the lower part is provided in the shape of an opening, on the outside circumference of a rotary sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A rotary sleeve 5 which is cylindrical and pierced a slit opening part 4 in accordance with a size of a recording paper on a suitable part is placed on the outside circumference of a flash lamp 1. Also, an inside surface reflecting sleeve 6 on which a part which is shaped as shown in the figure and correspnds to a fixing part of the lower part is provided in the shape of an opening is placed on the outside circumference of the sleeve 5. Accordingly, light which has jumped out to the outside of the sleeve 5 from the opening parts 4 other than the corresponding slit opening part 4 is irradiated to the sleeve 6 and reflected, returned into the sleeve 5 and irradiated to the recording paper, therefore, the optical energy of the lamp 1 is used for fixing usefully, its fixing effect is secured, and reliability of a device itself is improbed.

(Prior Art) In a conventional flash fixing device, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, a glue flaper having a substantially trapezoidal cross section is disposed around the outer periphery of a tubular flash lamp 1, and by flashing the flash lamp, the light from the flash fixing device is fixed. It is configured such that the unfixed toner image on the recording paper 3 that is conveyed below the reflector 2 is fixed on the recording paper 3 by energy. However, since the entire lower part of the flash fixing device's beam flap is the fixing area, if the size of the recording paper is small, not only the recording paper but also the conveying body below it will be irradiated. However, there is a drawback that the carrier is heated and deformed, which hinders transportation.

In order to avoid this, a method can be considered in which a plurality of flash lamps 1 are arranged in the reflector 2 according to the size of the recording paper, and these are used in accordance with the size of the recording paper. In this case, there are disadvantages in that the operation is complicated, the structure is also complicated and failures are likely to occur, and manufacturing costs are unavoidable.

(Object of the Invention) The present invention has been made in order to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional flash fixing device described above, and improves fixing efficiency by automatically forming a fixing area according to the size of recording paper. An object of the present invention is to provide a flash fixing device which prevents heat deformation of a conveying member and improves the reliability of recording paper feeding by preventing irradiation of light energy to parts other than the fixing area. That is.

Then, a recording paper supply section (not shown) selects the recording paper, and the signal is sent from the control input section to the pulse motor 1.
0, the pulse motor 10 rotates the rotary sleeve 5 clockwise or counterclockwise based on this signal to open the slit opening corresponding to the selected recording paper size. Set 4 facing downward. At this time, it goes without saying that a detector such as a microswitch or a photosensor is placed at a suitable location on the outer periphery of the sleeve 5 to accurately position the slit opening 4. In this way, the recording paper, on which the unfixed toner image has been transferred by the transfer section of the photoreceptor (not shown), is conveyed to the state where the slit opening 4 matching the size of the recording paper is set. If the flash lamp l inside the rotary sleeve 5 is made to emit light at the same time, the light energy of the lamp 1 will be transferred to the Zlit opening 4.
The recording paper is irradiated with light according to its size, and the openings 4 other than the slit opening 4...
- Light trying to escape from the rotating sleeve 5 is reflected by the internal reflection sleeve 6 disposed on the outer periphery of the rotating sleeve 5, and is returned into the sleeve 5, and these lights also irradiate the recording paper through the slit opening 4. Since it is a trap to do so, the light energy from the flash lamp 1 can be used for fixing without wasting it. Furthermore, at this time, an image density detection sensor, a detection circuit, a control circuit, etc. are connected to the flash lamp 1, the image density detection sensor detects the image density of the recording paper, and this detection signal is sent to the flash lamp via the detection circuit and control circuit. It goes without saying that if the light is sent to the lighting circuit of the lamp 1 and the light emission energy of the flash lamp 1 is corrected, the light energy can be significantly saved ().

(Effects of the Invention) The present invention is configured and used as described above, in which a rotating sleeve 5 is arranged around the outer periphery of the flash lamp 1, and a slit opening 4 formed in the sleeve 5 is connected to the rotary sleeve 5. Set the recording paper in the fixing section according to its size and turn on the flash lamp 1.

Since the unfixed toner image transferred onto the recording paper is fixed by the light energy, the fixing area is always limited to the size of the recording paper, and the light energy does not protrude outside this area. Therefore, the conveying body in the fixing section is not heated and deformed, and therefore there is no problem in conveying the paper due to this. Since this is carried out using the slit opening 4 of the rotating sleeve 5 that matches the image density, the light energy of the flash lamp 1 can be used for fixing without waste, and the light energy of the flash lamp 1 can also be used for image density detection. Since the image density can be adjusted using the sensor to match the image density of the recording paper, in this respect as well, waste of light energy can be omitted and the valve pressure can be more securely fixed, thereby further improving the reliability of the device itself. It also has the effect of being able to do the following.
