Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the surface of a coating layer from damaging and maintain the nonstickiness of the surface sufficiently by incorporating glass fiber in the coating layer of a heat fixing roller having the coating layer made of fluororesin. CONSTITUTION:The heat fixing roller 1 has the coating layer 7 made of fluororesin, and 1-30wt% glass fiber 8 of <=15mum size is incorporated in the coating layer on the basis of the bluororesin to obtain the heat fixing roller having superior wear resistance and damage resistance. The amount of the added glass fiber is preferably 1-30wt% because the layer has such a fault that a little effect of the addition of the glass fiber is obtained when the addition amount is <=1wt% and the nonstickiness decreases when the amount is >=30wt%.

However, conventional heat fixing rollers have a problem in that they do not have sufficient wear resistance or scratch resistance. In other words, the heat fixing roller has a separation claw (5) for peeling the paper from the roller, a blade (6) for cleaning the roller surface, or a felt, and a thermistor for detecting the roller surface temperature, all of which are in constant contact with the roller. The fluorine thread resin is abraded or damaged by these, and is also abraded by toner and paper passing between the support roller and fixing roller. As a result, after long-term use, the underlying metal is exposed and the fixing There was a problem that it could no longer function as a low 2. Note that (2) in FIG. 1 is a pressure roller.

(Structure of the Invention) In view of the above, the present invention has been made with the purpose of solving such problems, and provides a heating fixing roller that prevents the coated surface from being scratched and has a sufficiently non-adhesive surface. It provides: That is, the heat fixing roller of the present invention is characterized in that the heat fixing port has a coating layer made of fluorine thread resin, and the coating layer contains glass fiber. The invention will now be explained in detail with reference to the illustrative drawings.

As shown in FIG. 2, the present invention provides a heating fixing roller (1) having a coating layer (7) made of fluorocarbon resin, in which a glass fiber (8) having a size of 15μ771 or less is attached to the coating layer. By containing 1 to 30% gold by weight based on the resin, a heat fixing roller with excellent wear resistance and scratch resistance can be obtained.

The amount of glass fiber added is preferably in the range of 1 to 30 weight. The reason for this is that if the amount of glass fiber is less than 1% by weight, there is almost no effect of adding glass fiber, and if the amount exceeds 30% by weight, there is a drawback that non-adhesiveness is reduced.

Next, a method for manufacturing such a heat fixing roller will be described. The surface of the metal roller serving as the base material may be roughened by sandblasting or etching to improve adhesion to the fluorine thread resin. Furthermore, if necessary, a primer can be applied to further increase the adhesive strength.

The method of blending glass fiber with Kashida fluorine thread resin is as follows.
P"fib F A m is a method in which glass fiber is mixed and stirred with fluorine thread resin and then applied by spraying, etc.
There is a method of directly mixing glass fibers with resin powder and electrostatically coating the mixed powder, as shown in (7) above, but any method may be used.

The heat fixing roller of the present invention can be manufactured by applying a fluorine thread resin containing glass fiber to the outer surface of the metal roller that has been subjected to the adhesive treatment in this manner and heating the resin to a temperature higher than the melting temperature. Further, after this, finishing processing such as surface polishing may be performed as necessary.
