As shown in Figure 1, except for special purpose ships such as automobiles, which have loading docks, conventionally, as with general cargo, a derrick 1 with a hoist or unloading machine is used, and cargo is dumped from the hold mouth 2 or 3. A self-propelled load dumping means with a slope 4 provided therein;
Alternatively, cargo dumping methods using a combination of these methods have been used. Approximately the same means as described above are also used for cargo handling by heavy vehicles such as road rollers and vehicles with tracks.

Interruptions in cargo handling due to falling accidents, as well as slow driving to prevent slips and accidents, are among the causes that significantly increase cargo handling time.

In addition, by using the ramp 4, dead waves are likely to be generated in the cargo hold, and due to the angle α at which the ramp 4 contacts the deck, there are many cases where the deck is damaged by the impact and load on the deck. .

。On the other hand, heavy vehicles are roughly divided into two types depending on their weight: relatively light vehicles L1 are placed in the hold on the upper deck 5 or cover deck 16, and heavy vehicles L2 are placed on the double bottom top plate 15. Loaded into the hold. Therefore, a heavy vehicle entrance/exit corresponding to the above-mentioned loading is provided in the elevator casing 11 of each deck.

Then, by driving the elevator 12, the heavy vehicle L2 is raised and lowered to the double bottom and top plate 15, and the light weight vehicle is raised and lowered to the upper deck 5 or the cover deck 16, and then installed in the elevator casing 11. It is self-propelled into the hold of each deck by weight-specific exits and loaded at the desired location. During this period, general cargo can be loaded from the hold mouths 2 and 3 using a hoist or unloading machine, similar to the conventional cargo handling on a cargo ship (5). It is possible to do both at the same time. Incidentally, the total cargo handling time of the carrier ship equipped with the cargo handling equipment according to the present invention can be completed in only 5 to 6 hours, compared to 24 hours in the case of the conventional ship, and the cargo handling time can be significantly shortened.

A Nireita casing is installed in the forward hold, and an elevator that can freely move up and down inside the elevator casing is used to load and unload heavy vehicles into the hold on a designated deck according to their weight. Unlike conventional cargo handling by this type of carrier ship that uses ramps, cargo handling is completely free from interruptions and slip accidents due to ramp damage or slippage, and extremely safe cargo handling is possible. Since cargo handling by vehicles can be carried out in parallel, the total cargo handling time can be significantly reduced (6).
