CONSTITUTION:A reflector 2 whose section has an inverted trapezoidal shape is fixed to the outside circumference of a flash lamp 1 by which the maximum size of a recording paper 11 can be fixed, and plate-shaped movable reflectors 3, 3' are placed in the lower part of both ends of the reflector 2. The reflectors 3, 3' install linear pulse motor use rails 4,4' to its one side, respectively, and linear pulse motors 5, 5' are provided on the rails 4, 4'. The motors 5, 5' are connected to motor driving circuits 9, 9', respectively, through a linear pulse motor controlling circuit 8 from a CPU7 to which a recording paper size detecting circuit 6 is connected. Also, a circuit extending from the CPU7 to the circuit 8 is made to branch and connected to a flash energy controlling circuit 10. and the circuit 10 is connected to the lamp 1.

(Prior art) In a conventional flash fixing device, the method of changing the flash fixing width according to the size of the recording paper is as follows.
Some devices have flash lamps of different lengths arranged in advance and are used by selecting them as needed, but the fixing device with this type of configuration has a limited capacity, so it is difficult to store the recording paper. Since it is impossible to arrange flash lamps one by one for all sizes, there is a drawback that unnecessary energy may be generated during fixing depending on the size of the recording paper.

(Structure of the Invention) For this purpose, the present invention arranges the printer on the outer periphery of the flash lamp or further movably at the bottom of both ends of the printer, and moves these reflectors below the flash lamp according to the size of the recording paper. By widening and narrowing the lamp in the tube length direction, it is possible to perform flash fixing that matches the size of the recording paper.

When the recording paper size detection circuit 6 detects the fixing width 1o of the recording paper 11 and sends the signal to the CPU 7, the CPU 7 determines that the distance between the movable reflectors 3 and 3' is (10+
Linear pulse motor-5 so that d) = 11
, 5' is output to the linear pulse motor control circuit 8, and the linear pulse motor control circuit 8 transmits the signal to the motor drive circuit 9.9'.
.. 9', the linear pulse motors 5, 5' are operated for the specified number of steps, and the movable motor 7 below the flash lamp l is moved.
Move the rector 3.3' in the pipe length direction to increase its width by 1
1, and waits for the recording paper 11 to be conveyed with unfixed toner at that location. On the other hand, the CPU 7 outputs to the flash energy control circuit 10 a control signal that provides the optimum fixing 7 lash energy for the length jl between the movable reflectors 3 and 3'. In this state, the recording paper 11 is transported to the lower part of the opening below the flash lamp 1, which is composed of the reflector 2 and the movable reflectors 3 and 3', and the flash energy control circuit In accordance with this, the flash lamp 1 is caused to emit light with the optimum energy for fixing, thereby fixing the image. At this time, out of the light emitted from the flash lamp 1, the energy beam other than the opening can be reflected by the reflector 2 and the movable reflectors 3, 3' at the bottom of both ends thereof, and can be collected at the opening. The flash energy through will provide optimal conditions for fixing.

(Effects of the Invention) The present invention is configured and used as described above, and when performing flash fixation of recording paper using the flash lamp 1, the fixing area below the lamp 1 is fixed to the recording paper 11.
This is done by moving the movable reflectors 3 and 3' widely and narrowly according to the size of the paper, and this state is maintained, so the flash lamp 1 must be one that can accommodate the maximum size of the recording paper. Therefore, unlike conventional fixing devices of this type, multiple fixing devices are not required, which simplifies the configuration, and the fixing area can be made to approximately match the size of the recording paper. Moreover, all the flash energy of the flash lamp 1 emitted in this state can be focused on the opening at the bottom by the fixed glue reflector 2 and the movable reflectors 3, 3'. There is no waste in the irradiation of flash energy through the part, and the energy can be used with high efficiency, and this has the effect that the life of the flash lamp 1 itself can be extended.
