Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable safe and reliable ignition of a main burner, by a method wherein a pilot burner pipe in a gas burner ignited by spark is branched from a main burner pipe, and a pilot flame is formed by spark-igniting gas fed through an opening for pilot flame. CONSTITUTION:A pilot burner pipe 2 is branched from a main gas burner pipe 1 through which gas is guided to a main burner 3, and a pilot nozzle 9 through which gas is injected toward the combustion range of the main burner is formed at the pilot burner pipe 2. An opening 5 for pilot flame, through which gas from the pilot burner pipe 2 flows out, is located in the vicinity of the forward end of the pilot nozzle 9. By spark-igniting gas through the opening 5 for pilot flame, gas through the pilot nozzle 9 is ignited, and the main burner 3 is ignited by means of such flame.
