Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify manufacture and lower the cost by forming a helical conductive film on the surface of magnetic core in place of a winding wound in several layers. CONSTITUTION:A conductive film 2 of metal is deposited on the surface magnetic core 1 by the method such as plating and a helical conductive film 2' is formed by giving a helical cut-away groove 3 to said conductive film 2. The groove 3 is formed using a spiral cutter for manufacturing a resistor. The terminal or electrode 4 is formed by executing a thick plating to both ends with the solder. An insulating protection film 5 such as a paint is deposited on the helical conductive film 2' and it is used as a chip inductor. Here, it is no longer necessary to form a spool type cylindrical magnetic core and form a winding.

A conductive film (2) made of metal or the like is deposited on the surface by a method such as plating. Figure 1B shows a conductive film (2) directly on the surface of the magnetic core (1).
Although a conductive film (2) may be deposited on the surface of the magnetic core (1) via a layer such as a plating stabilizer. Therefore, the present invention is applicable not only to magnetic cores (1) in which the conductive film (2) is directly adhered to the surface but also to those in which the conductive film (2) is indirectly adhered to the surface of the magnetic core (1) through some kind of auxiliary layer. It also includes. In addition, although FIG. 1C shows a spiral conductive film (2) formed by spiral cutting, the spiral conductive film (2) is formed at once by an appropriate means in the plating step of FIG. 1B. 2) may be formed. In this case, the spiral conductive film (2) or the cut (3) does not have to be completely spiral.
It is sufficient that a current path circulating around the magnetic core (1) is formed between the electrodes (4). In the present invention, these shapes will be referred to as "spiral" for convenience. In the example shown in the figure, the spiral conductive film (2) or the cut (3) is replaced by the conductive film (2).
Although it is provided on almost the entire surface other than the electrode portion, it may be provided on a portion thereof. Theoretically, the spiral conductive film surface may have one turn.

FIG. 2 is a partially sectional side view showing a second embodiment of the invention. In this example, after the first drawing step, a cap (6) and a lead wire (7) are attached to both ends, and then painting (51) is applied.Furthermore, the cap (51) is applied immediately after the step of FIG. (6) and a lead wire (7) can be attached. The one in Fig. 2 is used as a leaded (discrete) inductor. In this example, too, the winding wire, which takes time and effort, is used. As explained above, according to the present invention, there is no need to process the cylindrical magnetic core into a spool shape or wind it, simplifying the manufacturing process, and utilizing a spiral cutter for resistor manufacturing. Therefore, it is possible to obtain an inductor that can be manufactured at relatively low cost.
