4の容量にもよるが、現像器6全体として高さ方向に犬
きくなシ、複写機全体の大きさとしてはある程度までし
か低くすることができない。また、ホッパー5にトナー
4を補給する手段も比較的面倒になる。また、現像剤3
は軸方向に移動しないため、現像有効幅以外の転写紙を
連続で複写した場合その転写紙の幅のみトナー4が消費
されて不足する。したがって、その後に現像有効幅の転
写紙を複写した場合不均一なすなわち左右の画@濃度が
異なる複写画像となってしまう不都合がある。また、ト
ナー濃度検知装置を取付ける位置も問題となシ、機能が
半減し、誤動作を生じさせる原因となる。さらには、こ
のような構造をもつ現像装置2をもつ複写機は水平状態
で設置されて使用されることが必要条件であシ、もし、
僅かな傾きを持つ複写機が設置された場合、現像器6の
現像剤3がどちらか一方に片寄シ、現像剤3が現像器6
よシ溢れ複写機内を汚す原因となると同時に複写画像に
