Claims

In a tape recorder equipped with a first tape deck having a playback head and a second tape deck having a recording/playback head, a first muting path connected to a playback signal line of the first tape deck and a line-in input of the second tape deck. A second muting circuit connected to the line, a third muting circuit connected to the reproduction signal line of the second tape deck, and a fourth muting circuit connected to the recording signal line of the second tape deck are provided.
When the second tape deck is set to recording mode, the first and third muting circuits are turned on, and the second and fourth muting circuits are turned on.
When the muting circuit is turned off and a line-in input is applied to the recording/playback head, and the first tape deck is set to the playback mode while the second tape deck is in the recording mode, the first to fourth mute ink circuits are turned on and off. 1.
