Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a photocomposing machine at a low cost by reducing the capacity of its memory by such an arrangement wherein a memory for characters is composed of a memory which corresponds to the entire print area of a sensitized material and another memory for enlarged characters which corresponds to area of several characters. CONSTITUTION:Characters on a character board 1 read out through a main lens 2 are printed on a sensitized material 3, and at the same time, they are enlarged N times by a group of enlarging lenses 5 through a half mirror 4 and projected on a photographing means 6 and image information thus obtained is caused to be memorized in a buffer memory 7. Next, a writing selection circuit 9 causes the image information reduced to 1/N (consequently magnification is 1) by a magnification conversion circuit 8 to be memorized in a character memory 10 and the unchanged image information (consequently magnifacation is N) to be memorized in another character memory 11 and next, the contents of the memory 10 are displayed as they are (all area of sensitized material 3) on a display unit 14 through a reading selection circuit 12 and a refresh memory 13 and the contents of the memory 11 are partially (e.g. only 2 characters) displayed on the display unit 14, while they are being renewed in sequence.

A typesetting machine equipped with a display device such as a CRT can be used not only as a monitor for normal character typesetting, but also as a monitor for nail printing and gisestination printing typesetting. In particular, when performing tabular printing typesetting, printing can be performed on the photosensitive material while the image is displayed on the display, which has the advantage that the feed amount or series can be set while checking the display. However, when printing a mixture of major series and minor series, the characters of the minor series appear on the display device.
5 and displayed in a small size, it is difficult to check the contact status of characters in detail, and it has been desired to cover the display by changing the magnification such as enlargement. In a phototypesetting machine with a conventional display device such as a CRT, the following is a means of always displaying the printed characters or the characters that will be printed, and changing the magnification of the characters according to the necessity. I can think of things.

However, in cases like ■, the number of characters to memorize is large,
Alternatively, if the magnification is large, a memory with a large capacity must be provided, which is expensive. In addition, in cases such as ■, as mentioned above, high accuracy is required for the displayed characters in order to visually check the condition of the nail print, etc., whereas magnification conversion by calculation is more likely to cause errors. , not very practical.

Therefore, the present invention provides a buffer 1 memory for storing image signals sent from a character/image signal generating means of a phototypesetting machine, and a buffer memory that stores the contents stored in the buffer memory as necessary.
A display control unit that controls the reading of text from the forward bending buffer memory and the text reading, and composing the contents of the character memory and the contents of the buffer memory in a desired positional relationship during reading. In a true typesetting machine having a display means for displaying, the character memory is constituted by a plurality of character memories for storing characters and images at different magnifications,
The contents of a desired character memory among the plurality of character memories are supplied to the display means, and further, one of the plurality of character memories is installed in a phototypesetting machine so that the contents of a desired character memory are printed on the photosensitive material. It is a character memory having a storage capacity 1i1 corresponding to an area, and cumulatively stores a signal obtained by performing arbitrary 16 rate conversion processing on the image signal sent from the buffer memory. One is a character memory that has a storage capacity equivalent to a part of the printing area of the photosensitive material, that is, one line, several lines, or several characters. The memory address of the memory contents is shifted by an arbitrary amount and the input image signal is stored in a predetermined address. This allows the memory for magnification conversion such as enlarged display to have a large capacity. I have an inexpensive phototypesetting machine that does not require any equipment.

In FIG. 3, the area within the 'C1 broken line 30 is an area for displaying an image to be printed next, and an area for displaying unprinted characters. now,
In order to print the character "e", the operator first prints the letter A in Figure 3.
In order to check the details, the readout selection circuit 12 is operated to set the display state to the enlarged display state shown in FIG. Adjust the interval as appropriate by changing the feed amount, etc. At this time, the character memory 10.11 still contains the character “
"E" is not written. That is, the character [e] is brought to the position of the optical axis 17 by the operator's character writing operation, is imaged by the imaging means 6, and is written into the buffer memory 7, so that it is in the Ic state. Then, the character memory is read out from the buffer memory 7 by a display control section (not shown), and according to the magnification of the character memory selected by a separate readout selection circuit 12,
The magnification is converted by the magnification conversion circuit 8, and the OR gate 18
The image information is superimposed on the image information in the VRAM 13 and displayed on the display means 14. Character memory at this point 10.
The contents of No. 11 are as shown in FIG. 4, △ and B. The display state in FIG. 3 is that the area 40 of the character memory 10 shown by △ in FIG. This is Shishino. That is, the area 40 is a readout area of the character memory 10, and the information in the area 40 is stored in the VRAM 13.
and displayed on the display means 14-[-. The character memory 10 corresponds to the entire area of the photosensitive material, and in this embodiment, the magnification ratio is 1, so the display state on the photosensitive material and the display state are in one-to-one correspondence. Memorizes printed characters in the same format. In addition to this, the character grid 11 in this embodiment is designed to store a /C image that is twice as large as the characters printed on the photosensitive material, and its storage capacity is currently limited. In the case of , it is two characters, which is smaller than the readout area 40 . The contents written in the character memory 11 include the two characters "Iu" before the position where printing is to be performed, that is, the area 30 on the display means 14 in FIG. 3B. Next, the printing position of the printed character (e) in FIG. It will be updated as soon as possible.

On the other hand, since the capacity of the character marking 11 is for two characters, the character "E" is already in the acceptance state in Figure 4B before it is printed, and there is no room to write the character 1-E, 1. . Therefore, when the character "E" is printed, the display control unit (not shown) shifts the storage address of the already stored content according to the feed amount set when printing the character "E", and
The printed character "e" is written at a predetermined address. As a result,
The contents of the character memory 11 become as shown in Figure 4, and the display state of the display means 14, which transfers the contents to the VRAM 13 and displays them, becomes as shown in Figure 5B. In this way, the printed characters are stored in the character memory 11 at the 2nd position before the printing position.
Characters are stored.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, the printed image is enlarged N times to 1liif#I, and the captured image information is converted to a magnification by a well-known method such as thinning out, and 1/N (that is, enlarged Characters reduced to a ratio of -1) are written to the character memory 10, and image information without scaling ratio conversion is written to the character memory 11, respectively, and the reading selection circuit is operated appropriately to write the characters to the character memory 10 or 11.
By selecting and displaying either of the above characters, it is possible to arbitrarily select and display the above-mentioned standard characters and characters enlarged by N times. Furthermore, the capacity of the character memory 10 is set to cover the entire area of the photosensitive material, and the capacity of the character memory 11 is set to hold two enlarged characters, so the memory dedicated to enlarged display can be extremely small, and enlargement is performed by an optical system. This enabled high-quality and high-speed display.

That is, in FIG. 6, 61 is an image forming means such as a CRT;
2 is a display means such as a CRT, and 63 is an output selection circuit. As in the previous embodiment, the characters on the dial 1 pass through the main lens 2, are magnified N times by the magnifying lens group 5, and are sent to the imaging means 6. After 1C, the image is captured and written to the buffer memory 7. Thereafter, the image information in the buffer 1 memory 7 is read out by a display control means (not shown), reduced to 1/N by the magnification conversion circuit 8, and written into the character memory 10, and the image is converted to an arbitrary magnification. Information is written into character memory 11. At this time, the output selection circuit 63 first outputs image information only to the display means 62, and displays the contents of the character 10 or 11 selected by the readout selection circuit 12. In this way, after the operator has typed the desired number of characters on the dial 1, the operator displays the content at the desired position on the character dial 10 on the display means 62 and performs proofreading. Next, by operating the output selection circuit 63, the display control circuit (not shown) sets the readout selection circuit 12 to read out the character memory 10, and sequentially transfers the contents of the character memory 10 to the VRAM 13.
By transferring the image to the image forming means 61 and outputting it to the image forming means 61, printing is performed on the sensitive material 3''.

As described above, in this embodiment, instead of sequentially printing on the photosensitive material 3, all the captured characters are written in the character memory 10 at once, so the contents of the character memory are written before printing on the photosensitive material 3. It can be displayed on the display means 62 for confirmation and calibration,
There is a method that prevents typographical errors and improves printing workability.
