Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of generating the winding habit on a belt- like photosensitive body even if a recorder is held unoperated for a long period of time and to prevent a trouble such as defective exposure and defective development by giving tension on the belt-like photosensitive body only while the recorder is in operation. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine is started and when a belt-like photosensitive body is run around a driven roll 3 and a tension roll 4 according to the revolution of a driving roll, a solenoid 23 is energized to retreat a movable iron core 24 into the solenoid 23. An oscillating rod 22 is turned in the direction of an arrow A against the energizing force of a sprint 25. Then the roll 4 presses the rear of the photoreceptor 1 toward the front thereby holding the tension the photosensitive body 1. While the copying machine is not in operation, the solenoid 23 is held not to be energized and therefore the rod 22 is energized by the spring 25 and is turned in the direction opposite from the arrow A, to release the roll 4 from the pressing and to relax the tension of the photosensitive body 1.

PRIOR TECHNOLOGY There are many copying machines and recording devices that use a belt-shaped photoreceptor. If the recording device is left unused for a long period of time, the belt-shaped photoreceptor will become curled up by the rollers that hold it, making it difficult to expose flat surfaces. This has caused various problems such as poor focus and uneven development due to variations in the development gap. Such curling tends to occur in small diameter roller portions such as tension rollers.

The tension roller 4 is rotatably attached to one end of a swinging rod 22, which is pivotably attached at approximately the center by a shaft 21 attached to a machine frame (not shown) in a direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the photoreceptor 10. ing. The other end of the swinging rod 22 is attached with the tip of a driving iron core 24 of a solenoid 230, which is attached downward to a machine frame (not shown). When the solenoid 23 is energized, the movable iron core 24 moves into the solenoid 23. The end of the swinging rod 22 to which the movable core 24 of the swinging rod 22 is attached is then pulled upward. Furthermore, one end of a spring 25 is attached to the side end of the tension roller 4 of the swinging rod 22, and the other end of the spring 25 is attached to a machine frame (not shown) located above the swinging rod 22. As a result, the m-moving rod 22 is biased in a direction in which the tension roller 4 is pulled upward.

Next, when the copy mode is inactive, the energization to the solenoid 23 is stopped, as shown in FIG.
The swinging rod 22 is biased by the spring 25 and rotated in the direction of arrow B in FIG. 3, and the tension roller 4 is released from being pressed against the photoreceptor 1, thereby loosening the tension on the photoreceptor 1.

Effects As described above, the present invention provides a jitter to the belt-shaped photoreceptor only when the recording device is in operation, so that even if the recording device is left inactive for a long time, the belt-shaped photoreceptor is not wound. It has excellent effects in that it does not cause curls and there is no risk of troubles such as poor optical performance or poor 3J images. In particular, the present invention is highly effective in devices that are left unused for a relatively long time, such as low-copy-volume copying machines.

Note that the effectiveness will be further increased if the tension roller for releasing the tension on the belt-like photoreceptor is selected from among the rollers around which the belt-like photoreceptor is wound, having a smaller diameter.
