A vacuum breaker in which a fixed electrode and a movable electrode are arranged in an insulating container so as to be able to come into contact with and separate from the movable electrode, and a vacuum valve having an intermediate shield surrounding the electrode is housed in a grounded tank, the metal cylinder surrounding the vacuum valve. A vacuum breaker characterized in that the metal cylinder is electrically connected to an intermediate shield in the vacuum valve.
