Claims

A speed reducer is installed in which an input shaft and an output shaft are arranged on the same side, a motor is connected to the input shaft, a drive sheave is connected to the output shaft, and the input shaft is connected between the speed reducer and the electric motor. A brake arm is placed to restrain the shaft, and when a brake coil placed near the brake arm is energized, the actuating rod protrudes upward and engages the brake arm, causing it to move in the direction of the input shaft. The actuating rod is arranged horizontally and at right angles to the input shaft, and the direction of the force of the actuating rod is arranged between the actuating rod and the brake arm. An elevator drive device characterized by being provided with a direction conversion mechanism that converts the direction of the direction to a right angle.
