Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend the life of belts and to improve productivity in a belt type continuous casting device by using perforated plates for the contact surfaces of the belt retaining blocks on both sides and supplying a lubricant thereby decreasing the frictional resistance with the belts and decreasing driving force. CONSTITUTION:Perforated plates 14 are used for the contact surfaces of retaining blocks 12 and the contact surfaces thereof with belts 2 are lubricated by the lubricating oil from passages 16 for the lubricating oil whereby the frictional resistance is decreased in the press contact part of the belts and water-cooled side blocks 9 of a belt type continuous casting and frame moving device which adjusts the position where the solidification of a molten metal is completed to a specified position. The driving force of the belts 2 and the frictional damage of the belts 2 are decreased and since the belts are operated for a longer time, productivity is improved.
