Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform high-speed key input processing, by providing key switches which have programmable patterned display elements internally and making it possible to see display contents from the external. CONSTITUTION:A key switch on a keyboard is used to display of first Kana (Japanese syllabary) characters. When a key of a switch SW2 is depressed, the display of Kana characters is changed to the display of a Kanji (Chinese character) beginning with the sound of the depressed Kana key. When a desired Kanji is found, a key switch SW3 is depressed to input Kanji. When Kanji is inputted, the display is changed to the display of Kana characters to prepare for the next Kanji input. By using this keyboard, the number of characters is increased easily if added characters have programmable pattern constitutions, and high-speed key input processing is possible.
