Abstract

PURPOSE:To control a cursor, etc. with extreme ease by changing moving directions depending upon a depressed key of a switch unit and varying a moving speed according to a depressed position of the key. CONSTITUTION:When a key top K is pressed with a finger, conductive rubber R is pressed down and switch contacts ca and cb are brought into contact with each other to detect the depression position electrically. This detection is performed when no key top is pressed or when either or both of points (a) and (b) are pressed. Then, a CPU1 reads the states of information lines L4 and L5 on contacts ca and cb of the pressed key switch out of a buffer 4 through an address signal line L2 and a data line L1 when the depression of the key switch is reported through a signal line L3. The moving direction and speed of the cursor corresponding to those piece of depression information are outputted to a display device interface part 5 to move the cursor on the screen of a display device 6.

移動速度は速くなる。ここではカーソルの右方向への移
動キーを例にとったが、上下方向及び左方向へのカーソ
ル移動の場合も同様で、外側位置を押下するほどカーソ
ルの移動速度は速くなる。
