Claims

a valve box having a drain inlet opening on the side, a valve seat provided at the bottom, and a drain outlet passing through the valve seat;
a float that is housed in the valve box and has a valve body fixed to the bottom that can be seated on the valve seat; and a float that is connected to the top of the float and has an effective pressure receiving area set equal to the opening area of the valve seat. A drain trap comprising: a pressure balance mechanism operated in the valve opening direction by pressure on the drain inlet side; and a passage communicating between the drain outlet side of the valve seat and a back pressure chamber of the pressure balance mechanism.
