In converters where permanent bricks are piled up on the inside, the bottom part of the converter is stacked on top of the permanent brick pile and has an annular recess at the outermost end with respect to the center of the furnace body. A work brick pile and a corner brick pile that are dropped into the depression and stacked are provided, and the corner brick pile supports the furnace wall work brick, and the corner brick pile and the corner permanent brick pile are provided. 1.
