置に配設されるエネルギ吸収ブラケットによって支持さ
れるエネルギ吸収ステアリング装置において、前記コラ
ムチューブの下部に対向する車体の所定位置に固定され
るクランプブラケットに、コラムチューブの外周面を軸
方向へ移動可能に把持するクランプを固定し、このクラ
ンプとコラムチューブとの間に、相互に嵌合する保合孔
と係合爪とを配設し、この係合爪に、係合孔の内壁面−
側に当接して車両の１次衝突時におけるコラムチューブ
の軸方向上方への移動を阻止するストッパ面と、ステア
リングホイールに対する２次衝突時に係合孔の内壁面他
側に対し滑走可能でコラムチューブの軸方向下方への移
動を許容する傾斜状の滑走面とを形成したことを特徴と
