Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable grinding of the surface of amorphous silicon without taking out an electrostatic latent image bearing drum from an electrostatic recording apparatus, by providing said drum made of amorphous silicon with means for forming an electrostatic latent image, means for developing said image with a toner, and means for transferring the toner image to a recording sheet of paper. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning device 10 is provided with a fur brush 16 for sweeping down the residual toner and rotatably held. A rotary grind-stone 15 connected with the rotational shaft of a motor is fixed on the downstream of the brush 16. As the rotary grindstone 15, one made of white alundum or carborundum is recommended. The surface of the amorphous silicon layer is ground by bringing said rotary grindstone 15 or a blade-shape grindstone 34 into contact with a photosensitive drum 4 to grind off the thin deteriorated surface layer, as illustrated in the figure.
